So I replaced the oil cooler and deleted the EGr cooler on my 07 6.0. Changed the injector o-rings, dummy plug, stand pipe, copper washers and one reman injector all on passenger side bank.Went to start it and it fired up after maybe 7 long cranks but was smoking white like crazy and misfiring. Figured it was air in the system and let it run
Benefits with DPF Delete. There are three key benefits associated with DPF delete: more engine power, better fuel economy, and reduced maintenance costs. More power: After deleting the DPF, most owners report a better performing, faster responding engine. Better fuel economy: Fuel economy is a big winner after deleting the DPF.
It's better to not have the EGR system on the engine and that's a well known fact. If you have no emmision testing there it's a good system to kick to the curb. If you have to run the EGR system using a good fuel additive like diesel kleen or the Ford stuff raises the cetane levels enough to actually help keep the intake and EGR valve much cleaner.

The EGR valve (in the simplest sense) heats up your intake air. By getting rid of it, your intake temps should drop.
To delete an EGR system is a bit more involved, requiring blocking plates on the easiest end and new exhaust up-pipes on the more difficult side. Removing the diesel particulate filter (DPF) or
Egr off in a tune, turns off the egr valve. No exhaust gasses will enter the intake manifold. However, with the egr turned off in a tune, and "still retaining the egr cooler", you will still have the same "hot exhaust pressure gasses" that drive the turbine wheel of the turbo, pressurizing and dead heading in the egr cooler.
EGR Engines still plague owners of older trucks with problems. While most of the early problems have been engineered out of the exhaust gas recirculation systems on today’s clean diesel engines
Problems w/ EGR delete. I have just had an EGR Delete kit installed on my F-350. I have had a shop that I trust install this kit due to my lack of time to do it myself. I am having 2 problems. 1. The up pipe is not sealing against the turbo and causing an exhaust leak that you can hear. On the factory up pipe there was some flex and didn't seem
In some cases, yes. Installing an EGR delete on 2006 and up 6.0L trucks WILL result in the check engine light. In fact, it will set the check engine light on all Ford 6.0L's with software that has been updated since about 2005. This means that an EGR delete will set the CEL on most 6.0L's on the road today.
This will cause you to have a rough driving experience, and you may likely bounce off from your driver’s seat a little bit. When your engine idles, you might also notice a misfire when holding the steering wheel. If you have a malfunctioning EGR valve, your vehicle is bound to undergo rough idling.
