2. comply with the darn under hood sticker, i.e. 0W-30 and VW 504 00 spec oil. 3. do oil changes every 5000 mi -- 10k miles at the dealership and 5k miles on my own (with receipts). 4. stick with dealer changes on the 10k miles or dealer purchased oil on the 5k miles to leave a paper trail.

Reliability. Most folks are running Stage 2 as their daily drivers and it is relatively safe on the MQB platform. Cons. $$$$ - I think I spent $8-10k all said and done going Stage 2. Worth noting that I basically did all of the "extras" (intake, exhaust, plugs & coils, inlet pipe, intercooler, DSG tune, etc.). If you just go downpipe & tune you
Took it to a quiet industrial estate and made sure it was safe to do a launch. (additional 50kg of work equipment in the boot). The DSG Tune was launching from 5k which seems very high. Will get that adjusted as it seems to hang before jumping to 2nd gear. Also noticed a high pitched whistle at the high rev range.

Tunes will be the same, and you will need a dsg tune as well if you want to go stage 1+ or stage 2. That cost will be another $500, so yours really looking at $3k. Do you think you can sell your car, buy a dsg, pay sales tax + a mechanical inspection on the new car, maybe some fees for title transfer, etc for less than $3k?
The very MINIMUM I would consider soing if going stage 2+ - Downpipe (APR is a great choice if you want a not so aggressive exhaust note, like me) - HPFP (APR rebuild or Autotech rebuild) - Intake (CTS and Evoms are good choices and cost A LOT less) Actually, those are the only things I will be doing when going stage 2+, and some gauges. Edit:
Posted January 16, 2019. I’m APR stage 2 HT also with the following list of mod’s. APR stage 2 HT ECU/TCU. Millers NANODRIVE CFS 5w-40 NT+. CTS B-Cool engine oil billet filter housing. VWR600 intake. Turbo Technics turbo inlet hose, insulated. GFB DV+ diverter valve. VWR turbo muffler delete.
Nice, I have a 2018 DSG Golf R that's an APR Stage 2+ and I'm hitting 60mph in the low 3's. 4 seconds isn't bad for low torque and being on 91 only. I'm on 93 octane high torque. But your covered under warranty which covers $3,400 dollar turbo replacement, $8,000 DSG replacement, $10,000 engine replacement.
